But sometime, you do not wish to go for particular website for any reason and want to block such site in Chrome, IE, Mozilla Firefox or any other browser.
There are few tips and tricks which helps you to block the Website.
- Modification of Host File in Windows Folder
It is require to edit the Host file. Don’t worry, this is simple editing task and not any coding or development
1>Open your My Computer (depends on Windows version)
2>Go to the Address bar. As we need to go for the particular location, either you can browse by folders or directly past the below location address in Address bar “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\“
3>Suppose, you want to block “Cricbuzz.com”. Then, enter the below code at the end of file.
4>Save you File. Even if it ask for Admin privileges, you can use that as it will not perform any harm.
- Using Browser Extension
This method is only applicable to Google Chrome Browser. Here, you can install the “Block Site” browser extension to block any website.
1> Open the Google Chrome Browser
2> To install the Block Site (third party extension), browse for below link. Install Block Site
3> Now, whenever you want to block any site, just right-click on the webpage. Then hover your mouse pointer to “Block site” menu and select “Add Current Site to Blacklist”.
4> The Block Site extension also provides the interface for uninstall protection. Just go to, options->uninstall protection on right click to prevent others from uninstalling the extention.
